We are pregnant!!! I have had such a mixture of emotions: shock, excitement, fear, uncertainty and a little bit of denial. We had started preparing ourselves for this but it is still a surprise! We have known for several weeks, but we had to keep it quiet because we wanted to have the ULTIMATE Christmas present for Nana and Pops: Brooke and Glenn are pregnant too and we wanted to surprise them with the (double) good news on Christmas morning. It was sooo worth the wait!
We went to see Dr. Lamar yesterday and he did an ultrasound- we saw our baby on the screen so now it is really really for real! Our due date is August 4th and I am about 10 weeks along. Everything is going fine, except for some morning (all day) sickness and EXTREME fatigue. Now we just need to make some room in this tiny house for another person and all of his/her stuff! I am about to go into extreme clean-out mode.
Ivey doesn't really have any idea about the baby, but everytime we ask him if he wants a brother or a sister, he says "A Brudder!"
Brooke and I took this picture and framed it and put it under the tree. Nana and Pops were SHOCKED. Talk about the best present ever! The only drawback is that we will never ever be able to top this gift!
This was the night I told Frank the news. We waited and waited for him to get home from work....
I put this Big Brother T-shirt on Ivey and didn't say a word. Frank got home from work and began talking about his day. He had the best day at work and he was so excited about it. Finally, he noticed the shirt and started crying. We got down on our knees and said a prayer of thanks. The most incredible thing was that our phone rang about 2 minutes later and it was Frank's boss giving him a raise! It was a wonderful night of celebration.
